IT RUNS LIKE IT'S ON RAILS

De Karel isn’t just a train, it’s a passion project on wheels. Professional drivers, engineers, and conductors volunteer their time to keep every ride running like clockwork. Behind the scenes, a dedicated crew of volunteers polishes, tweaks, and tunes until everything is in tip‑top shape.

And when you’re on board, our volunteer hosts and hostesses make sure your journey is as pleasant as the view outside the window.

WHO IS HUUB?

Meet Huub, the man behind the throttle!  As Chief Engineer and Lead Machinist of De Karel, he knows every bolt, whistle, and secret of the train.

In this interview, Huub spills the beans on what you need to know and plenty you didn’t even know you wanted.
