Remuneration Policy: All activities carried out by board members and volunteers are performed without financial compensation. Expenses incurred may be reimbursed.
Mission: The mission of the Karel Foundation is the preservation of industrial cultural heritage, with a particular focus on historic railway equipment. This is achieved not only through maintenance but also through operation. By keeping the train in service, it remains visibly preserved as part of Dutch culture.

The foundation aims to:

Provide funds and facilities for local events and pre-events where money is raised for charitable causes

Manage and maintain cultural and industrial heritage

Undertake all other activities directly or indirectly related to, or beneficial for, the above, in the broadest sense of the term
The foundation does not seek to make a profit.
